Today, I signed up for a membership at the New York Sports Club. I took a lyrical/hip-hop dance class with Nia. The instructor, Rob, was pretty dope, and worked us out pretty good. I never felt fatter; I went mad hard and by the end I was sweating bullets and trying to grab each breathe of air like it was my last. I haven’t danced like that in like… 6 months, since December. However, on a bright note, he turns around and says, “hey kid, in the back with the shirt and shoes, that was amazing! You look like you do it better than me!” I immediately blushed and shrunk into the corner I was already in, as everybody turned to see who this “kid” was. Nia was all like, “What did you DO?! SHOW ME!” as if I had some secret maneuver that caught his attention. Totally did not; just the lyrical training I got from TERPS, definitely from Jenna and Stevie.
For the next 12 months, I’m going to be a working-out machine. At least will try my best.
So I let Pop get the best of me and copped Lady Gaga’s “The Fame Monster” and Justin Bieber’s “My World 2.0” and as hard as I try to hate this kind of music, it is my super guilty pleasure. They both are so super well produced, so well sung, and the concepts are just out of this world, well at least for Gaga’s. Bieber is the typical r&b/pop crooner that is definitely reminiscent of Usher in his younger years. I think it will be very interesting to watch The Bieb mature, and possibly grow some dance moves.
If i was still in Oneonta, I would def choreograph to this.
As for myself, here is my “before” picture.
I hope I’ll look a bit slimmer before the year’s end.
Super excited about tomorrow! Talib and Pete Rock, great friends and great times.
Made a new song, and also got such a dope dope dope album cover by Sean Gallagher. This album will be good. At least I hope so.
