Post T-Day

Thanksgiving came, and went.

I took it upon myself to make dinner for my fam and my cousins fam; being that my parents already work too hard and also, I don’t like fruit in my stuffing (raisins? blech.)

THE MENU:

1.  Roasted Butternut Squash Soup with Bacon
– Roasted the Butternut Squash

CHECK THE ORANGE YUM.

– Pureed with yams and other stuffs. Topped with chives and Bacon.

the bacon makes it.

2.  Mashed Garlic Parmesan Potatoes with Bacon (pictured at the top of the turkey)

3.  Italian Sausage Stuffing with Bacon (pictured at the bottom under turkey)

4. Roast Turkey (the turkey.)

– Soaked overnight in OJ, Veggie Stock, Blueberries, Brown Sugar, cinnamon, made it real juicy, sweet, savory.

AND BACON.

And it was also a little celebration for my B-day. TWO CAKES WHAAT

NICE.

Over the weekend, got to peep the new Harry Potter : The Deathly Hallows Part 1 with my friend Steph, and the movie?
NERD ALERT!

SO MUCH WIN.

I read the book but like, months ago so I definitely need a refresher.  It was nice to watch a Harry Potter movie without realizing it doesn’t stick to the book too much; I came to terms with the fact that the movies, although based on the bestselling books by J.K. Rowling, are an entity in of itself.  The worst part of this movie is in the title: PART ONE. The writing for this movie was the best so far from the history of HP movies. It definitely feels like you’ve grown with these characters, that you get to see them grow into their roles, their ages, and almost a reflection of how much you’ve grown too.  Try watching the first HP movie and then see this one; you’ll know what I mean.  Just a quick recap, Harry and Ron and Hermoine are out to find the Horcruxes and destroy them; destroy the Horcrux and you destroy ole’ Voldy.  No spoilers in this little review, but there are great moments in this movie that really examine the deep respect and friendship Harry and Hermoine have; in retrospective I feel like Harry wouldn’t even be the great wizard he is without her smarts. Ron of course, is great in the parts he’s in. The entire movie is full of stressful and tense moments and Ron is the humor that makes this flick a bit endearing. Also, Dobby is straight up RIDICULOUS and I found more respect with him (totally forgot about him since i read the book like ages ago).

Lastly, the theater I went to with Steph was obvi the best theater with the customer in mind.

Explains everything.

The t-shirt venture Dynasty Clothing Arthur and I began is starting to grow legs; we created a tee design and it sold out in the first run with a good request for a second run. We’re now working on a second design; looking for designers and others interested.
